One Last Hurrah

THE HIKE

The troops were "none too pleased" with the mile hike I insisted upon.
Does this rock look like a hat? Apparently, the early explorers did. The kids just couldn't see it...I said, "Use your imagination!"

EXPERIMENTATION WITH FIRE: A BOY'S FIRST LOVE

SAND & WATER: LOTS OF IT

Even though we had lots of fun, I do not recommend camping in the sand. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING ended up with sand in it.

My Brave Boy

Garrett took his first trip to see the eye doctor on Tuesday. He was very nervous, but did very well. It turns out that he is going to get glasses. He is excited and glad that he'll be able to see better.

Fixed

Now that the computer is back from the doctor everything is working super-duper. The kids are happy to have a fully functioning CD drive and I'm happy the SD card reader works again. We had to go for a few days without it, but it was totally worth it. I think it just might be a good thing to have "computer-free" days periodically. It's really NOT the end of the world if I can't check my email or facebook on an hourly basis (which I, by the way, DO NOT do). Plus, it was kind of fun playing catchup, seeing what had gone on while I was "away."

Anyway, tonight I uploaded a bunch of pics from the last month or so. Now, I can actually do some blogging...if only I can find the time.

Firstborn

This is what I get when I try to take a picture for the ol' memory book:

I'm glad he finally smiled for me, even if it WAS fake.
